You'll need to cross Route 223 to get to Victory Road, which is a cave that leads to the Pokemon League. There is a Pokemon Center outside, so you'll have a chance to Fly back and grab some items or heal up later. For now, have a Pokemon that can learn Surf and Waterfall in your party, and head north out of Sunyshore City. Jasmine, the Olivine City Gym Leader, will meet you by the beach and give you HM07 - Waterfall. Hit the waves and continue north past all the trainers. At the end, you'll see a crashing waterfall, so use your new HM and ascend it to the Victory Road Pokemon Center.
|
Before entering Victory Road, you will need to have a Pokemon on your party with Rock Climb, Rock Smash, Strength, Surf and Waterfall. Feel free to enter the cave and gain some levels, then healing at the Pokemon Center before actually attempting to cross the cave.
|
Follow the paths laid out by the bridges and when you reach a seemingly dead-end, use Rock Climb to slip down to the lower level. Continue left, but don't jump any of the ledges or you'll have to return to the start. Climb the stairs you encounter and follow that path past the trainer to the next level.
|
If you head left by smashing the rock and moving the boulder, you'll see some ramps - use your bike on fast gear and speed over the ramps to jump the rocks in the way. Doing this leads you to a Max Elixir. Anyway, from the entrance, head down and use Rock Smash on the two rocks there. You'll see a set of three boulders, so use Strength to move them out of the way. Head left to the other corner and you'll see two boulders, a rock and a trainer. Push the left boulder down, and use the new path to break the rock with Rock Smash. Move the boulder out of the way and follow the path to the right.
When you reach a set of three boulders, push the top one to the right, creating a dead end to the left. Instead, head up, down the stairs to the first floor, then return to this spot to access the right path. You can get a Full Restore and TM71 - Stone Edge from here. Back on first floor, head over the bridge and down to the lower level by using Rock Climb. The path leads to the right, where the stairs there take you to the basement.
Head down the stairs and Surf to the right, then Surf up to the waterfall. Ascend it and follow the water around to another waterfall, but instead of descending it, continue left past the trainer to another patch of water. The stairs to the first floor are just ahead.
On the first floor, head left to a T-junction. The stairs here lead to the deep part of Victory Road, which can only be accessed after the Elite Four. Instead, head down past the trainer and use Rock Climb to climb the ledge to the right; the ledge to the left leads to TM79 - Dark Pulse. Cross the bridge and you're at the exit. Use Waterfall outside and you'll reach the Pokemon League.
The lobby here houses both a Pokemon Center as well as a PokeMart. Stock up on some items, heal and train as necessary, and when you are finally ready, approach the lady guarding the doorway next to the PC and your Rival will battle you. It is recommended that your Pokemon should be around level 50 for battling the Elite Four.
Rival Battle | If you chose: TurtwigChimcharPiplup

Staraptor | Level 48 | Normal/Flying | Close Combat Aerial Ace Steel Wing U-Turn

Rapidash | Level 47 | Fire | Fire Blast Sunny Day Bounce Will-O-Wisp
Torterra | Level 51 | Grass/Ground | Leaf Storm Earthquake Crunch Synthesis |
A Staraptor with Close Combat and a Flying-move can easily take out Heracross, Snorlax, Roserade, Torterra and Empoleon. If you're stuck without one, an Electric-type should be sufficient against Staraptor as long as it's Special and not Physical-based. For Heracross, exploit its 4x Flying-type weakness and it shouldn't pose much of a threat. Snorlax might be hard to take down, especially with Rest, so use some strong Fighting-type moves. The remaining three should be quite familiar to you, and again, use their elemental weaknesses to finish your Rival.
After the battle, you'll get a final chance to heal and shop around. Once you proceed into the main area, you will not be able to turn back, when you're ready, talk to the lady and she'll let you through to Aaron, the first member of the Elite Four.

Drapion | Poison/Dark | X-Scissor | Level 53
Cross Poison | ||||
Ice Fang | ||||
Aerial Ace | ||||
Plenty of 4x weaknesses to exploit: Yanmega and Vespiquen to Rock, Scizor to Fire and Heracross to Flying. These four are not too difficult at all, and you should be able to finish them off in one hit each. For Drapion, use a good Ground move like Earthquake to take it out, but if it survives, Ice Fang can really hurt your Ground Pokemon. Yanmega's Double Team can be really annoying, so shut it down as fast as you can. |

Sandstorm | ||||
Rhyperior | Ground/Rock | Earthquake | Level 55
Rock Wrecker | ||||
Megahorn | ||||
Avalanche | ||||
While Flying-type Pokemon are immune to Earthquake, they are weak to Rock-type moves like Stone Edge and Rock Wrecker. Stick with Grass, Water and Ice Pokemon for this one. Grass Pokemon have the added resistance to Ground moves, and Whiscash, Golem and Rhyperior are all 4x weak to Grass attacks. Gliscor is 4x weak to Ice, but watch out for those elemental fangs. |

Magmortar | Fire | Flamethrower | Level 57
Thunderbolt | ||||
Solarbeam | ||||
Hyper Beam | ||||
He finally gets some proper Fire Pokemon in Platinum! Sunny Day can make life tricky for Water Pokemon since it reduces the effectiveness of all Water-attacks by half, as well as lets Rapidash and Magmortar fire SolarBeam in a single turn. Your best bet is to strike hard and fast: sweep Flint with attacks like Surf, Earthquake and Stone Edge. For added fun, set up Stealth Rock and hit Flint's Pokemon for up to 25% damage as he switches them in. |

Gallade | Psychic/Fighting | Drain Punch | Level 59
Psycho Cut | ||||
Leaf Blade | ||||
Stone Edge | ||||
With an immunity to Psychic, Dark Pokemon are clearly ideal for this battle. They should be able to take down Mr. Mime, Espeon and Alakazam without too much problem, although the secondary attacks may hurt some Dark Pokemon with secondary typings. For Bronzong, stick with some strong Fire moves, but be careful of Earthquake. As for Gallade, a Ghost Pokemon for the Fighting immunity can be used. As with the Dark Pokemon, be careful of any secondary typings that may cause it to become weak to Psycho Cut (e.g. Gengar) or Stone Edge (e.g. Drifblim). |
You'll realise soon enough that it's not sufficient to beat Lucian. There's one more trainer you need to face, so make sure you save after beating him, and continue on. When you enter the final room, you'll walk to the end and meet a familiar friend - prepare to battle the Sinnoh Pokemon League Champion: Cynthia!

Dragon Pulse | ||||
Garchomp | Dragon/Ground | Dragon Rush | Level 62
Earthquake | ||||
Flamethrower | ||||
Giga Impact | ||||
Although Spiritomb's only claim to fame is that it has no weaknesses, that doesn't mean it resists everything. Take it down with some strong neutral attacks like Surf and Earthquake. Roserade and Togekiss can both be taken down with an Ice-type, but you will definitely want it in top shape to take on Garchomp. If you don't manage to take out Garchomp using its 4x weakness to Ice, use some Dragon-type moves as well. For Milotic, use some Physical attacks to render Mirror Coat useless. A Ground Pokemon using Earthquake can easily take down Lucario. |
After the battle, Professor Rowan will congratulate you on your victory and will lead you into the Hall of Fame. Here, your Pokemon will be registered in the record books, and the credits will roll. You've just completed the main story of Pokemon Platinum! But a new adventure awaits when you restart your game...
